Paul Hoffman: The Left Hand of God

Hi again

This review is about The Left Hand of God by Paul Hoffman. It’s the first book in The Left Hand of God trilogy. I got this book in the Waterstones in Glasgow.

“His name is Cale.
They told him he could destroy the world.
Maybe he will.
The Sanctuary of the Redeemers is a place where children endure brutal cruelty and violence in the name of the One True Faith. Lost in the Sanctuary's huge maze of corridors is a boy. He is strange witty and charming, and violent. But when he opens the wrong door at the wrong time he witnesses an act so horrible he must flee, or die.”

The Left Hand of God is marked as Fantasy or Dark Fantasy but is actually a really bad love story.
The plot is unrealistic, the world-building is non-existent, the character-building is hugely flawed or (again) non-existent, the plot is predictable and unbelievable.

Happy reading.
Helena
